What our refurbished grades mean

The grade only describes how a device looks. Every grade is fully tested and works exactly as it should, so you can pick the finish that suits your budget. Devices are inspected at normal arm's length under normal light — tiny marks only visible under bright light don't count.

GRADE A+

Pristine

Like new, with no visible signs of wear.

Screen: Flawless at normal viewing distance.
Body: No visible marks, scuffs or dents.
Best for: Gifts, or anyone who wants a device that looks brand new.

GRADE A

Excellent

Minimal wear, such as light marks or scuffs that are difficult to notice.

Screen: May have very faint marks only seen with the screen off at an angle.
Body: Very light marks you would need to look closely to spot.
Best for: Near-new looks at a lower price — our most popular choice.

GRADE B

Good

Moderate signs of normal everyday use, while remaining in good overall condition.

Screen: Light scratches that are not noticeable when the screen is on.
Body: Visible scuffs or small marks from everyday use.
Best for: Great value if you'll use a case or cover anyway.

GRADE C

Fair

More noticeable scratches or scuffs, fully tested and working as it should.

Screen: More noticeable scratches; the display still works perfectly.
Body: Heavier scratches, scuffs or small dents.
Best for: The lowest price for a fully working device.

How each device is refurbished

Graded on arrival
Each device is inspected at normal arm's length under normal light and given a cosmetic grade.

Full functional test
Every feature is checked to decide if it's ready to sell or needs work first.

Repaired & refreshed
Anything not right is fixed — for example a new battery or screen — and light screen scratches are polished out.

Tested again
After any repair the device is fully re-tested. Nothing moves on until it passes.

Final quality check
One last look over before it's listed, then packed and sent with tracked delivery.
